Make A Casual Jacket
If you Supplies Needed:
Felt 4 ½” long by 4” wide
Embroidery Thread
1 Small Hanger
Cut out pattern for jacket. Be sure to fold piece of felt in half long wise to cut the one piece pattern.
The pattern should measure about 3 ¾” long by 2 1/8” (from fold to end of sleeve). If you are making this to fit a doll, be sure to make the sleeves a bit longer and try on the doll before you begin to do the blanket stitching on the sleeve edge.

Once cut from felt, open and fold in half so that the center cut is on one side for the front of the jacket. Hand or machine stitch from one arm sleeve down to waist edge then sew other side. Clip curves under arms and turn right side out.
Using a length of embroidery thread split in two sections, thread a needle. Do a blanket stitch with three strands of embroidery thread starting at one seam edge. Do this all around the edge of the hem and neck to return to starting point and finish off. Slip a pencil into the arm/sleeve hole and continue to blanket stitch around each sleeve edge. Decorate as you desired.
Slip the pencil back into the sleeve and fold the piece to where both front sides are facing each other down the seam line. Tack with matching threads about 1” or so to let the sleeve drape on the hanger. Do the same for both sleeves.

Insert hanger into jacket and lightly glue to hanger ends.
Note: You can cut a small collar and add it as you blanket stitch the neck or sew it on. Try adding a label and enjoy!
